Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of related benefits administration experience and/or training
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience working with HRIS systems

Work Environment
Key Responsibilities
Benefits Administration
- Enroll new employees in benefit plans within the HRIS and provide benefits orientation
- Provide employee benefit deduction information to payroll
- Process employee status changes and review claims
- Process open enrollment benefit plan transfers
- Maintain vendor contact to investigate discrepancies and resolve non-routine issues
- Provide carriers with appropriate documentation for life, pension, and disability benefit claims
- Assist in the preparation of materials and presentation of benefit plan changes to employees
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefit coverage and coordinate with carriers
- Address employee issues while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, Section 125, and applicable state laws
- Respond to notifications from state agencies regarding court-ordered medical coverage
- Issue annual individual summaries of benefits to employees
- Maintain employee benefit files and records
Other Duties
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Travel occasionally, primarily within local areas when required
